AHR Loft Conversions is a small family-run company. We aim to complete all work with minimum disruption to your home and family life, and we'll talk you through the right type of conversion for your roof and the way you want to use the space.

Four ways to convert your loft

The right style depends on your roof shape, the ridge height, your budget and how you want to use the room.

Hip to gable

The sloping side of the roof is built up into a vertical gable wall, giving the loft far more headroom and floor space.

Best for: Detached and semi-detached homes wanting extra bedrooms, a bedroom with an en-suite, a walk-in wardrobe, an office, a study or a playroom.

Flat roof dormer

A box-shaped extension built out from the roof slope, adding height, usable floor space and natural light.

Best for: Adding height and light where the existing roof limits headroom.

Pitched roof dormer

A smaller dormer with its own pitched roof. The same benefits as a flat roof dormer, with a more traditional look.

Best for: A traditional look that suits the existing roof shape.

Roof light

The roof shape stays as it is. Windows are fitted flush with the roof slope to bring in plenty of light.

Best for: Lofts that already have good headroom. Cost-effective, quicker and with less structural work.
